My goal as a tutor is to provide access to quality education. Standartized tests, for better or worse, are the current gatekeepers in our society to a shrinking middle class. In how many other fields of work can you say that? As a tutor, you know that every day you are helping to mold and shape your students' lives in some small way. You are constantly helping to broaden their minds so that they can think in new ways. It's rewarding to know that you are helping others constantly.

My name is Thembelihle Jiya. I studied at the University of the Western Cape and completed my high school education at Nyanga Senior Secondary School in the Eastern Cape, a school known for its high-performing students. I began tutoring while I was a university student, supporting learners from local high schools. Through this experience, I developed a passion for helping high school students improve their understanding and achieve academic success.

My sisters were part of the Classatutors after school programme and I saw the change in their school results and also their mindset in just a space of 2 months.
academically, they improved from an average of around 46% to an average of 78% within the next term.
Their mindset has also changed since they started with classatutors, they no longer find school boring, they now dream more often of been doctors and lawyers, they now know that there are endless possibilities.
    all thanks to classatutors.
